Xenical is to treat people who are overweight or obese. This medicine works by targeting the absorption of dietary fat in your body rather than suppressing your appetite.

Dietary fats are large molecules that need to be broken down before they can be absorbed into the body. They are broken down by enzymes called lipases. That is, lipases play an important role in the digestion of dietary fat. When taken with a meal, Xenical interferes with the activity of these enzymes. This allows about 30% of the fat eaten in the meal to pass through the gut undigested. Therefore, your body cannot store these excess calories as fatty tissue or use them as a source of energy. This helps you to reduce your weight by burning up fat that you are already carrying, maintain your lower weight and minimise any weight regain. Losing even small amounts of weight and keeping it off produces additional health benefits for you, especially when you are at risk for other diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Xenical can also help to improve risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar. If these are not treated, they could lead to other diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Xenical should be taken in conjunction with a well-balanced calorie-controlled diet and other appropriate measures such as exercise.Active Ingredients:Xenical does not contain sucrose, gluten, tartrazine or any other azo dyes. The history of weight loss

First, weight loss drugs were designed to help treat obesity by preventing the absorption of fat in the body. These drugs specifically targets the pancreatic lipase enzyme, which breaks down fat in theumers of the small intestines. By preventing this process, weight loss drugs are able to, thereby reducing calorie intake and promoting weight loss. A growing number of medical communities throughout the world have been incorporating weight loss medications into their weight management regimens. In addition, some weight loss medications have been found to be effective in other areas of weight management:

  • Oral hypoglycaemic drugs:These drugs are used in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure through the action of a small enzyme - sulfonylurea.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Orlistat (Xenical, Alli) for the prevention of weight gain and obesity-related complications associated with obesity treatment.

Methods

To determine the efficacy of Orlistat (Xenical, Alli) for weight loss in overweight adults who were treated with the recommended weight loss targets after a single dose of Xenical (Xenical). To assess the effects of Orlistat (Xenical) on weight gain, body weight, and waist circumference, the patients were evaluated and compared between groups. The study protocol was approved by the Ethical Review Board at The University of California, San Francisco (E13222). Written informed consent was obtained from all patients undergoing the study. Weight gain and waist circumference were measured using a calibrated measuring device in a randomly allocated sub-sample. All measurements were performed by the same person at each of the two main weight loss target groups. Body weight and waist circumference were measured before, during, and after the intervention. Orlistat (Xenical) was administered to the patients. Orlistat (Xenical) was administered to the patients before the study intervention and at each time point after the intervention. The efficacy of Orlistat (Xenical) was evaluated in comparison with placebo, both at baseline and at each time point after the intervention. Body weight and waist circumference were measured at baseline and at each time point.

The primary objectives of this study were to assess the effects of Orlistat (Xenical) on weight gain, body weight, and waist circumference in comparison with placebo. A total of 45 patients (age range, 27-63 years) who were enrolled in the study were included. The mean age of the patients was 46.2 ± 13.2 years (range, 20-86 years). Mean weight loss of Xenical (Xenical) was 4.1 ± 1.5 kg at baseline and 1.7 ± 1.6 kg after 120 days of treatment. The mean BMI was 28.5 ± 2.6 kg/m2 (range, 18-39 kg/m2) at baseline and 19.1 ± 4.3 kg/m2 (range, 18-36 kg/m2) at 120 days. The mean BMI in the patients treated with the recommended weight loss targets after 120 days was 28.5 ± 2.6 kg/m2 (range, 18-39 kg/m2) at baseline and 21.4 ± 4.5 kg/m2 (range, 18-36 kg/m2) at 120 days. The mean weight gain (body weight) and waist circumference in the patients treated with the recommended weight loss targets after 120 days were 5.3 ± 1.3 kg (range, 1.2-12 kg) and 5.6 ± 1.4 cm (range, 1.5-11 cm), respectively. The mean waist circumference in the patients treated with the recommended weight loss targets after 120 days was significantly higher than in the patients treated with the placebo (P < 0.05). The efficacy of Orlistat (Xenical) for weight loss was assessed at each time point. The results showed that Orlistat (Xenical) was effective in the prevention of weight gain and obesity-related complications in overweight adults who were treated with the recommended weight loss targets after a single dose of Xenical (Xenical) (Figure A). The results indicated that Orlistat (Xenical) was effective in the prevention of weight gain and obesity-related complications in overweight adults who were treated with the recommended weight loss targets after a single dose of Xenical. Objective:The objective was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of orlistat in patients with obesity (Obesity). A population pharmacokinetic (PK) model was developed and used for this study. The PK model was validated by comparing the pharmacokinetic parameters of orlistat with those of a placebo (placebo) in obese patients.

Methods:The model was validated by comparing the pharmacokinetic parameters of orlistat with those of a placebo in obese patients.

Results:The PK model developed indicated that orlistat (orlistat 120 mg/kg) was bioequivalent to placebo in obese patients (AUC 0-1, AUC 0-24 and AUC 0-54; andt1/2, AUC 0-48 and AUC 0-72).

Conclusion:Orlistat was bioequivalent to placebo in obese patients. The results of this study indicated that orlistat could be safely administered in obese patients.
